For the sake of full disclosure, I am going to start off by saying I am utterly, unequivocally, and unabashedly obsessed with Scotland.
That being said, it will come as no surprise that the first post ever on this site will be about the land of my heart, Scotland. More specifically, my October 2016 trip to the Isle of Skye (see the red marker on the map below).
How did I get there?
By way of Inverness; via WOW Scotland’s Isle of Skye bus tour. It was a 12-hour (so basically, all day) tour that was the best $90 USD I’ve ever spent. In short, you start your day hella early; you hop on a bus (which was really comfy, tbh), and embark upon your journey. The tour guide and driver were very friendly, knowledgeable, and above all entertaining throughout.
What did I see there?
Portree was the cutest little town, and of course, I found a bakery for tarts, obvs . . .
Our tour guide (Sandy) told us that he’s never seen the view so clear from Skye over the water; the fact that we were able to see all of the mountains, and the other islands across the water is something that almost never happens. (See below.)
Kelly (pictured below) and I kept saying throughout this trip that we’ve never seen the sun shine the same back home like we did in Scotland.
We kept trying to catch the light:
Another thing we were fortunate to see was Eilean Donan Castle before the sun set:
The quality of my pictures pale in comparison to this AMAZING video that was filmed by WOW Scotland the day of our tour.
